LIC's Jeevan Arogya Yojana is a non-linked (not linked to the stock market) health insurance plan, which helps you in the current rising health related diseases and the expenses on it. In this scheme, you can cover yourself, wife, children, parents and not only that, but also your mother-in-law. This is a comprehensive health insurance plan for your entire family.

Features of Jeevan Arogya Yojana of LIC:
• The only health insurance plan covering self, wife, children, parents and in-laws.
• Covers for hospital expenses, surgery and more
• Payment of benefits regardless of actual medical expenses
• Benefits of this scheme along with Mediclaim Scheme already available at the same hospital expenses / surgery

• Quick cash facility available on hospitalization instead of claiming for benefits on leave from hospital
• Upfront payment of 50% by LIC (under 57 surgeries at Network Hospital), under Quick Cash

What is covered in LIC Jeevan Arogya?
• Cash benefit on hospitalization
• The main surgical benefit is 100 times the accident death benefit.
• Lump sum payment of day care process benefits
• Other surgical benefits (where all other surgical cover is covered), hospitalization is 2 times the cash benefit / accident death benefit.
• For major surgeries under category 1 or 2, every insured person is given an ambulance charge of Rs 1000.
• Premium Discount Benefit
• Increase from 5% to 50% even if there is a claim under "Cash Benefit on Hospitalization" and "Main Surgical Benefit".

In detail, cash benefits on hospitalization:
Daily Rs.1000 to Rs. Option to choose up to 4000
• Daily Rs. Up to 4000 for a maximum of 720 days
• Daily Rs. Up to 8000 in ICU for maximum 360 days

Dekare procedure in detail (which does not require 24 hours hospitalization)
Cash Benefit / Accidental Death Benefit on Hospitalization 5 times
• 140 surgery
• 3 daycare process covers and a lifetime 24 process covers in a year

Waiting period for getting benefits in LIC Jeevan Arogya Yojana:
• Accident Claim - 0 days
• Cash Benefit / Accidental Death Benefit on Hospitalization - up to 90 days from the date of commencement of the policy.

Additional benefits in LIC Jeevan Arogya Yojana

• Two options available as term rider and accident benefit rider
• Increase in health benefits every year in the form of no claim benefits

The illustration given below is for a single person who has a hospitalization benefit of Rs. 1000 daily.

Income tax benefit
The premium to be paid under this scheme is exempted under Section 80D of Income Tax.

Exclusions - Things not covered under LIC Jeevan Arogya Yojana
• Existing conditions (unless disclosed and accepted by LIC)
• Regular checkup and non-allopathic treatment
• Epidemic diseases or conditions (classified by central or state government)
• Cosmetic or beauty treatments, circumcision, dental treatment
• Plastic surgery (if not necessary for treatment due to an illness or accident and was done within 6 months from the occurrence of the incident).
• Treatment of illness caused by the fault of the policy holder on the right medical advice
• Self-inflicted and attempted suicide
• Misuse of drugs, alcohol or drugs
• Current conditions at birth (congenital conditions)
• General weakness, nervous breakdown or related conditions, infertility or sterilization
• Sexually related diseases such as HIV / AIDS
• Conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth
• Invasion of any act of war, foreign enemy, naval or military operations etc.

• Natural disaster like earthquake, flood etc.
• Participation in dangerous sports like running, scuba diving, bungee jumping.
